A HEARTFELT APPRECIATION FROM THE NEW CHAIRLADY, “I FELT HONOURED BEYOND WORDS”

As the dust gently settles after what will long be remembered as one of the most unifying and momentous events in the history of the APC France Chapter, the newly inaugurated Chairlady, Hon. Hajiya Musa Baba Suzuki, has extended her deepest and most heartfelt appreciation to all who graced the occasion — both in person and online — for their unwavering support, presence, and encouragement during the official handover ceremony held in Paris on Saturday, 19 April 2025.
Taking to the podium once again on Sunday morning in a short but deeply moving address to members of the planning committee and guests who remained in Paris, Hon. Hajiya Suzuki was visibly emotional as she described how the event made her feel:
“I felt truly honoured… beyond words. This is not just a personal victory, but a celebration of unity, of dedication, and of the limitless strength of the APC family across the globe.”
From the early morning arrivals to the final benedictions, the atmosphere at the event was electrified with unity, purpose, and cultural pride. Traditional attires from all regions of Nigeria coloured the room, while laughter, music, and chants of “APC! Next Level!” echoed through the venue, creating a vibrant spirit of togetherness and celebration.
“I saw people travel from different cities, people standing for hours, giving their time, their energy, just to be part of this moment,” she continued. “From the royal fathers to our mothers, our youth, and our elders — each one of you made this day unforgettable.”
Among those especially appreciated by the Chairlady was Hon. Prof. Tai Balofin, the respected Chairman of the APC USA Chapter, who joined the event virtually from the United States alongside few members of his executive council. His participation was described as “a strong symbol of global solidarity within the party.”
“Hon. Prof. Balofin, even across the Atlantic, your presence was felt,” Hon. Hajiya Amina said warmly. “Your words, your prayers, your advice, they were priceless. We thank you and the entire APC USA team for being part of our moment. It shows us that APC is one house with many rooms, and every room is important.”
In his virtual message, Prof. Balofin had lauded the peaceful transition of power in France and praised the commitment of diaspora chapters to party discipline and national development. He encouraged greater collaboration between diaspora chapters and reaffirmed his support for intercontinental engagements among APC stakeholders abroad.
The Chairlady also expressed her gratitude to the APC National Chairman, His Excellency Hon. Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje GFR, CON, who not only attended in person but lifted the entire occasion with his dignified presence and stirring remarks.
“Your Excellency, you honoured us by coming. You inspired us by speaking. You validated us by staying,” she said, to another round of applause from party members.
Additional appreciation was extended to:
Hon. Dr. Mary Alile, APC National Woman Leader, whose passionate advocacy for women was a highlight of the day;
Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who joined virtually with words of unity and partnership;
All royal dignitaries, including HRM Oba Aderonmu Sadiq and HRH Dr. Sirajo Abubakar Djankado, for lending their voices and blessings to the transition;
And the former chairman, Hon. Chief Olanrewaju Balogun, whose legacy set the stage for continued excellence.
The Chairlady closed her message with a promise to lead with transparency, commitment, and humility:
“We are entering a new era for APC France. I assure you — this chapter will serve not only our members but the image of Nigeria itself, here in the heart of Europe. With your continued support, we will rise — together.”
As guests began their departures and team members dismantled the final stage decorations, the air still held the warmth of shared purpose. One attendee was overheard saying, “It didn’t feel like a handover. It felt like a homecoming.”
And indeed, it was.
